Is This Surface Laptop (1st Gen) Version Right for You?

With 8GB RAM this version handles office files, email, browsing, online classes and video calls comfortably. Surface memory is soldered and cannot be added later, so choose it when your work stays in that range and the lower price matters.

The 256GB SSD holds Windows, Office, apps and documents; large photo or video libraries are better kept in the cloud or on an external drive.

What to Check on a Used Surface Laptop (1st Gen)

Keyboard deck: Alcantara-covered models can show wear or stains on the palm rest, so look at the deck in good light.
Charging: test the Surface Connect charger and USB-C charging where the model supports it.
Windows Hello: test face sign-in and the front camera.
Keys and trackpad: every key, the backlight and both trackpad clicks.
Screen: check for pressure marks, white spots and dead pixels on a white and a black background.

Our staff will help you do these checks at our Dhaka or Brahmanbaria showroom before you pay.

Why Buy the Surface Laptop (1st Gen)?

3:2 PixelSense touchscreen: a taller screen than 16:9 laptops, so you see more of a document or web page.
Premium, light build: aluminium body at about 1.25 kg.
Lowest-priced Surface Laptop: the same 3:2 touchscreen and build as the newer models for far less money.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Surface Laptop (1st Gen) Core i5 7th Gen price in Bangladesh?

The used Microsoft Surface Laptop (1st Gen) Core i5 7th Gen with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is ৳29,000 at Digital Computer Shop.

Is it good for programming?

It is fine for learning to code: VS Code, Python, HTML/CSS and small web projects run well. For heavy tools such as Android Studio, Docker or large projects, a quad-core laptop with 16GB RAM is the better choice.

Can it handle video editing?

It handles simple 1080p clips in CapCut or Clipchamp. For regular video editing, choose a model with Iris Xe or dedicated graphics.

Is it good for graphic design and Photoshop?

Yes for Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Canva. The touchscreen works with the Surface Pen (sold separately) for sketching, retouching and handwritten notes.

Can I use it for AI tools?

Yes for online AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Canva AI, which run in the browser. It is not meant for training or running large AI models on the laptop itself, which needs a powerful graphics card.

Is 8GB RAM enough, and can I upgrade it?

8GB is enough for office work, study, browsing and online classes. The RAM is soldered to the board on every Surface and cannot be upgraded, so choose a 16GB model if you plan heavy multitasking or design work.

Does the Surface Laptop (1st Gen) support Windows 11?

Microsoft does not list Intel 7th Gen processors for Windows 11. Windows 11 can be installed and runs, but without official support. For a fully supported Windows 11 Surface, choose the Surface Laptop 2 or newer.

How does it charge?

With the magnetic Surface Connect charger. It has no USB-C port.

How is the battery?

It depends on the condition of each unit. We run a battery report on request so you can see the remaining capacity before you buy.
