HP EliteBook Price in Bangladesh (2026): 840, 845, 830, 850, 1040 and Every Used Model Compared

HP EliteBook is the business laptop line that banks, NGOs and multinational offices issue to their staff, and it is the brand we sell most at Digital Computer Shop. Corporate fleets are refreshed every three to four years, so a steady flow of well-kept EliteBooks reaches the used market — with aluminium bodies, excellent keyboards and security features that consumer laptops at the same price do not have.

The catch is the naming. We currently stock more than thirty EliteBook models, from the 840 G5 to the Core Ultra 840 G11, plus the 830, 835, 845, 850, 865, 645 and x360 1040 lines. This guide explains what each number means, how the generations differ and which EliteBook gives the best value at each budget. Every price shown is live from our stock, and every unit is tested, unlocked and covered by our service warranty.

How to read an HP EliteBook model number

Every EliteBook name follows the same pattern, and once you know it you can judge a laptop before you see it.

• First digit — the series. 8 is the core business range most companies buy. 6 is the value range with a simpler chassis. 7 was used for older AMD models such as the 735 and 745. The 1040 is the slim flagship.
• Second digit — screen size. 3 means 13.3 inches, 4 means 14 inches, 5 means 15.6 inches and 6 means 16 inches.
• Last digit — the processor brand. 0 means Intel Core, 5 means AMD Ryzen. So the 840 is Intel and the 845 is AMD in the same 14-inch body; the 830 and 835 are their 13.3-inch versions.
• “G” number — the generation. A higher G is newer. On the 840, G5 and G6 carry 8th Gen Intel, G7 carries 10th Gen, G8 11th Gen, G9 12th Gen, G10 13th Gen and G11 Intel Core Ultra.

So an EliteBook 845 G8 is a 14-inch business laptop with an AMD Ryzen chip from the 2021 generation, and an EliteBook 850 G6 is a 15.6-inch Intel model with an 8th Gen processor. An “x360” in the name means the screen folds all the way round into tablet mode.

HP EliteBook models at a glance

For most buyers the value sits between the 840 G7 and the 845 G9. These models are officially supported by Windows 11, use fast NVMe SSDs and run Office, Zoom, Teams and dozens of browser tabs without strain.

EliteBook 840 G5 and G6 — the budget 8th Gen choice

The 840 G5 and G6 are the most searched EliteBooks in Bangladesh because they deliver a quad-core 8th Gen Intel chip, a metal body and a backlit keyboard at the lowest price in the range. The two look almost identical; the G6 uses a slightly newer 8th Gen chip. Both take standard SO-DIMM RAM, so 8GB can be upgraded to 16GB later. Some G5 units shipped with a 7th Gen dual-core chip — it costs less, but is not officially supported by Windows 11, so we recommend the 8th Gen versions.

EliteBook 840 G7 and G8 — the mainstream sweet spot

The G7 introduced the slimmer design with narrow screen bezels that still defines the EliteBook today. It runs 10th Gen Intel Core. The 840 G8 moves to 11th Gen with Intel Iris Xe graphics, which are roughly twice as fast as the UHD graphics in the G7 for photo editing and video playback, and it adds Thunderbolt 4 for single-cable docking. If your budget stretches, the G8 is the better long-term buy.

EliteBook 840 G9, G10 and G11 — the newest Intel EliteBooks

From the G9, HP switched the 840 to a taller 16:10 screen, which shows more lines of a document or spreadsheet without scrolling. The G9 carries 12th Gen Intel Core with a mix of performance and efficiency cores, the G10 carries 13th Gen, and both support DDR5 memory. The 840 G11 moves to Intel Core Ultra, which adds a built-in NPU for on-device AI features in Windows and stronger Intel Arc graphics on the H-series chip. Choose these if you want a laptop that will stay current for five years or more.

EliteBook 845 — AMD Ryzen PRO in the same 14-inch body

The 845 is our best-selling laptop. It shares the 840’s chassis, keyboard and screen within each generation, but its AMD Ryzen PRO chip gives more cores and stronger built-in Radeon graphics at a similar price. The G7 and G8 offer six or eight cores, the G9 brings DDR5 and much faster graphics, and the G10 and G11 carry AMD’s newest chips. For a detailed comparison, read HP EliteBook 845 vs 840.

Compact 13.3-inch EliteBooks — 830, 835 and x360 830

The 830 and 835 put full EliteBook features into a 13.3-inch body that fits a small bag and weighs noticeably less than the 14-inch models. They suit bankers, field officers and anyone who carries a laptop all day. The 835 G8 with Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U is the performance pick; the x360 830 G7 adds a touch screen that folds into tablet mode; the 830 G11 brings Core Ultra and a 16:10 screen.

Large-screen EliteBooks — 850, 860, 865 and 660

Accountants, data-entry teams and anyone who works in wide spreadsheets all day benefit from a bigger screen. The 850 G6 and G8 use a 15.6-inch Full HD panel and most units include a number pad. The newer 860 and 865 step up to a 16-inch 16:10 WUXGA screen in a body not much larger than a 15.6-inch laptop — the 865 with AMD Ryzen 7 PRO is the strongest large EliteBook we stock. The 660 G11 is the value 16-inch option with Core Ultra 7.

Value Ryzen EliteBooks — 645, 745 and 735

If you want EliteBook build and security at the lowest price, look at the AMD value models. The 745 G5 and G6 and the 13.3-inch 735 G6 are older Ryzen PRO laptops with quad-core chips — fine for Office, browsing and online classes. The 645 G9 and G10 are newer 600-series models with six-core Ryzen 5 chips and 16GB RAM; they use a simpler chassis than the 845 but offer more performance than any 745.

EliteBook x360 1040 — the flagship convertible

The 1040 is HP’s slimmest 14-inch EliteBook, built for executives who present from the laptop. The x360 versions fold into tent and tablet mode, support pen input and use a premium aluminium chassis. Note that RAM on the 1040 is soldered to the board, so choose the 16GB configuration at purchase — every 1040 in our stock already has 16GB.

Which generation should you buy?

• 7th Gen Intel and older (840 G3, some 840 G5): dual-core chips, not officially supported by Windows 11. Fine for typing, email and browsing at the lowest price.
• 8th Gen Intel and Ryzen 3000 (840 G5/G6, 850 G6, 745 G6): quad-core chips with Windows 11 support. The budget sweet spot.
• 10th–11th Gen Intel and Ryzen 4000–5000 (840 G7/G8, 845 G7/G8, 835): faster, cooler and better graphics. The best value for most buyers in 2026.
• 12th Gen Intel, Ryzen 6000 and newer (840 G9+, 845 G9+, 865): DDR5, 16:10 screens and the longest useful life.
• Core Ultra and Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U/8840U: built-in NPU for Windows AI features. Buy only if you need that or want the newest hardware.

What to check before buying a used EliteBook

• Battery health: ask for the battery report and compare full-charge capacity in Wh with the design capacity. We test every battery and tell you its condition before you buy.
• Screen: check for dead pixels, bright spots and pressure marks on a white page. Some units have HP Sure View, a built-in privacy screen — useful in banks and open offices, but it makes the panel dimmer at wide angles.
• BIOS and Computrace lock: ex-corporate EliteBooks can carry a BIOS password or remote-management lock. Every EliteBook we sell is checked and unlocked.
• Ports and charging: test USB-C charging, USB-A, HDMI and the audio jack. On the 840 G8 and newer, confirm Thunderbolt or USB-C docking works if you need it.
• Keyboard and touchpad: test every key and both touchpad buttons; heavy wear means heavy past use.
• Warranty: buy only with a written warranty from a shop you can walk back into. Our Dhaka and Brahmanbaria branches service every laptop we sell.
